Magic Hat Brewing Co. Mardi Gras Parade & Block Party
Magic Hat built its brand on creating engaging experiences with its customers while giving back to its community. After a successful Halloween event at its brewery, local businesses were disappointed Magic Hat chose to compete with its best customers in downtown Burlington.
The Antidote? Create a new holiday to give back to the community. The Magic Hat Mardi Gras Parade was born!
What we did
Produced a multi-day community event featuring ornate floats, masquerade ball, and national music acts including Gov’t Mule, moe., Dumpstafunk, Geno Delafose
Engaged local media partners, local businesses, community organizations, and an appropriate brand-relevant non-profit
Created a contest to drive excitement and awareness about the event for use on premise, off premise, digital & PR content across all markets
Created win-win opportunities for sponsors.
Over 20,000 people would routinely show up for the event – snow or shine.
Over the years, our non-profit, The Women’s Rape Crisis Center (WRCC) received huge awareness as the beneficiary of the event, free awareness messaging in major local media, branding in all event promotion, and $100,000+ in donations. Success was measured by the increase in calls to their #800 services support number. Additionally, they secured over 300 volunteers for the safety of our event.
In a traditionally slow time, local businesses had record days. Including hotels, restaurants, ticketed events, and foot traffic.
